Audiobook Review: Marry Me Again: Nicole Snow

Marry Me Again

Narrated by Shirl Rae and Charles Constant

Publisher: Tantor Audio

Kara: Once, when I was young and stupid, I had that boy. The charmer, the Adonis, the one who torched every woman’s panties in our small town. He was my brother’s best friend, practically part of the family. When he proposed, he promised me forever. Then the bastard disappeared without a word.

It’s taken five years to get over Ryan. I drowned myself crying a thousand times over. I moved on.

I’m finally remembering what it’s like to smile, when guess who shows up? Everything about him is different. For one, he’s become a freakin’ billionaire. He walks like he’s Mr. Tall, Dark, and Alpha incarnate. I know there’s no justice in the world, because his body matches his huge ego.

Worse, he wants me to play Cinderella again. I can’t. I won’t. I don’t believe in second chances. I’ll never forget what he did.

Ryan: I did a terrible thing. No, I’m not talking about the filthy secret that wrecked everything.

Leaving Kara killed me. I didn’t have a choice. No amount of money, success, or bedding any woman I want whenever I flash my patented smirk makes up for losing her.

She was the one. Hell, she still is.

Elsie’s Rating – ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Kara and Ryan have known each other since childhood. Kara is raised in a loving family and Ryan in the neglect of the foster care system. Kara’s family takes Ryan under their wing, giving him a sense of normalcy and as he gets older teaching him a trade.

It’s always been clear to everyone that Kara and Ryan were meant to be together. With the blessing of Kara’s family, Ryan proposes to Kara before she heads off to college and Kara eagerly accepts.

Kara settles into college life, but when a routine call home goes unanswered by Ryan and the rest of her family. Kara has the sinking feeling that her life is about change, and not for the better… and she’s right!

My introduction to the works of author Nicole Snow was through her MC romance books. So I was a little hesitant to listen to something other than that genre. I needn’t have worried, Marry Me Again is as solid as any of her MC Romances. It was a well-told mystery/romance.

This audiobook clocks in at just over 8 hours and is a dual narration by Charles Constant and Shirl Rae and I like the combination! I had an issue with the voicing of one of the secondary characters, Shirl voiced the character as masculine and Charles voiced the character as wimpy, it was a disconnect for me. I didn’t mind either version, but I think the narrators should come to some sort of consensus on the tone of each of the characters.

That small criticism in no way takes from the enjoyment of the audiobook and both narrators make my short list of favorite narrators.

Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Nicole Snow started writing romance to escape office politics. Today, she writes about powerful alpha males and irresistible bad boys, serving up some of the hottest romance on the shelves.

Fan favorites include her Grizzlies, Deadly Pistols, and Prairie Devils MC series, as well as PRINCE WITH BENEFITS. Snow’s style ranges from suspenseful to sweet, and there’s always something swoon-worthy in the works.
