Jake Weston and I met under a cloud of cliches: Boy meets girl. Boy charms girl. Boy screws girl.

He was the sexiest, cockiest man I’d ever encountered, but I had no idea he was a senior pilot when we met. No idea we worked for the same airline and had secrets just like me.

After a passionate night of unforgettable sex, I thought I’d never see him again, but when I did, neither of us could walk away…

We weren’t supposed to be together, we definitely weren’t supposed to fall in love, and yet our turbulent and forbidden love affair took on a life of its own.

We knew we could potentially crash and burn, but what we had was so intoxicating and inescapable that we were both willing to risk it all…

This is us.
This is our messed up love.
This is Turbulence.

Elsie’s Rating – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Jillian, a reserve flight attendant, supplements her income as an executive housekeeper on Park Avenue. So what, if she occasionally uses the swanky penthouse apartment of one of her absentee clients as her very own crash pad.

Jake Weston is an aloof and a cocky ace airline pilot. When he meets Jillian at a private party, they both decide a one night stand is in order. Surprises and heartache are in store for both Jake and Jillian, as these one night stands keep crossing paths.

10 ½ hours never went by so fast! This story engages you immediately and it never lets you go. Whitney G pens a story that makes you laugh, cry and cringe. Be warned though some may not like this story because Jake is… well… a major dick! He has some serious long-standing baggage. Somehow though I never once felt the slightest dislike for his character. It was a nice surprise that Jillian was no pushover either, she confronts him at every turn and refuses to let him push her away or put up with his antics for too long.

Turbulence is a dual narration by Erin Mallon and Joe Arden. Erin voices the lion’s share of this audiobook. She is one of the best when it comes to voicing the alpha male. Voicing both genders well is truly a skill that few possess. More than that though, Erin has a wide variety of character voices she acts out. I really got a kick out of her reading of the side character Alicia Connors, it’s pure perfection!

I can’t leave out Joe Arden, he has a voice to die for and the raw emotion that he can bring to the characters are amazing and sometimes frightening. When the character he’s voicing says to “get the hell out, now”, I swear I almost grabbed my keys to leave!

Turbulence is my first listen for author Whitney G, it will not be my last. This was a fantastic story and told well. It’s audiobooks like this that remind me why I love them so much! This will definitely be a repeat listen.
